Crucial miniSD (Secure
Digital) Card
Crucial's miniSD cards are solid-state devices designed with flash
technology, a non-volatile storage solution that does not lose its
information when power is removed from the card. The cards contain no moving
parts and are extremely rugged, providing much greater data protection than
conventional magnetic disk drives.
Like regular SD cards, the miniSD card's nimble, portable data transfer
makes it ideal for portable electronic devices. The miniSD's smaller size
(it is about 40 percent of the size of a regular SD card) is designed for
use in newer mobile phones, which have memory-hungry features such as
built-in digital cameras, music download capability, and games.
However, the card uses an adapter that
converts the miniSD card into a regular-sized SD card so that the card can
be used with other SD-compatible devices, such as digital cameras, MP3
players, and handheld computers. The adapter is also great for using your
